Kaitlyn Dorothy Hassard Memorial FundOn January 24, 2006, Kaitlyn's life tragically ended while playing with her family's golden retriever in her backyard. Words cannot describe the loss Kaitlyn's family and friends are feeling. Kaitlyn leaves behind her parents Rich and Korey, a brother Kevin and a sister Kelsey, and an extended family that spans the country.Kaitlyn was a beautiful little girl who was kind, loving, compassionate and friendly beyond her years. She was truly a unique child and she touched the lives of everyone with whom she came in contact with. Kaitlyn had a special charm about her, a twinkle in her eye and a smile that would light up the room. There are a million things that Kaitlyn would do to make people laugh or put a smile on their faces. It was the simple things that gave Kaitlyn the most pleasure and she enjoyed seeing the smiles and laughter of those around her. A memorial fund has been created in Kaitlyn's name which will be used towards fulfilling an ultimate goal of developing the first and only park/community center in Manorville, New York, Kaitlyn's home town. The Memorial Fund has also established an Arts & Music Scholarship in the Eastport/South Manor School District. This Not For Profit Organization also donates to the Hospice Care Network to help benefit their services and programs. Our "Heaven Sent" bracelet design was created with this special little girl in mind. The "Heaven Sent" colors are some of Kaitlyn's favorites and the sterling silver crayon box charm represents her love of art.
